In July 2006, Governor Hoeven in collaboration with the Center for Technology and Business hosted a statewide summit for Young Professionals. In response to the summit, Young Professionals (YP) organizations across the state united to form North Dakota Young Professionals (NDYP) under the leadership, guidance, and commitment of the Center for Technology & Business (CTB). CTB continues to run the program and provides technical, administrative, and financial support to all aspects of the network via the NDYP Coordinator. The current NDYP Coordinator, Laurie Morse-Dell, provides support and organizational coordination of the NDYP program through her role as Marketing and Technology Coordinator at CTB. Laurie coordinates the activities and communication for NDYP and its Board while continuously building and maintaining relationships with all its members, potential members, and partners, including local entities starting new YP networks. The CTB Board has recently asked NDYP’s Advisory Board to appoint a member to serve as its representative to the CTB Board to increase direct communication between the two organizations. Chris Schilken currently serves this appointment but NDYP’s Advisory Board will appoint this representative annually.
