The creative duo of sisters Lacey Heid and Rachel Neumiller teamed up to launch pear’d – handmade goods created for simple adventures.

A little about how and when you got started
Sewing runs in our blood. Our mom learned from her mother, and we learned from our mom. We have memories of our mom muttering under her breath, while she finished sewing our Christmas dresses at the kitchen table. Once we were old enough, Mom enlisted our help with sewing projects and we’ve been hooked ever since. In the summer of 2013, pear’d began by selling at Bismarket. Shortly after, we created an Etsy shop and had our product in a couple local stores.

What should people know about your business
We design and sew everything between the two of us. We sell handmade because we want to offer goods that excite others and are durable. We love being part of the handmade community and enjoy collaborating with others.

What one tip do you have for other YPs that are interested in starting a business
Do something you’re passionate about because starting something can be extremely hard. You may have low days, but if it’s something you believe in, you will work through it and be in a place you’re proud of.

Where can people learn more about your business
We regularly stock goods at Unglued in Fargo and Aco. in Bismarck. You can creep on us at facebook.com/peardinfo, pearD.etsy.com, and @peardadventures on Instagram.
