Fun Fact About the Community
Cavalier was named City of the Year in 2012! For many reasons, but one that I think is good to mention is that we’ve got a GREAT main street. In the last few years, we’ve had about a dozen new businesses in town.  You can honestly find anything you need right here in Cavalier. Whether its Wedding China, Jewelry, Fashion Purses, Professional Photography, Hunting & Fishing Equipment, Tux Rental, Shoes, Bicycles, a Bouquet of Flowers, Homemade Fudge, Antiques, Interior or Exterior Paint, Sump Pumps- really, we have it all. Plus, every Father’s Day Weekend we host a motorcycle rally that brings in hundreds of bikers for two days of music, games, and fun runs.

Local Hot Spot/Where Will You Find YPs Hanging Out
Icelandic State Park and The Cavalier Golf Course. We’re very lucky to have a ND State Park just 5 miles down the road. It offers a great camping facility along with a nice lake for water sports. The beach is always packed for people in the summer. Across the lake is our golf course. It’s a beautiful 9 hole course that is busy with people any day of the week. They host tournaments, have men’s and ladies nights or anyone can go out and golf anytime.

Best Reason for a YP to Visit
We have many retail events, at least once a month, that showcase local businesses, what they have to offer and discounts at these stores. They are fun events for the whole family, such as a Halloween Parade in October, Back to School Night in August, and the Cavalier Motorcycle Ride In in June. Cavalier offers year round outdoor pursuits from birding, to photography, to snowmobiling! There really is something for everyone!

Anything Else You Would Like to Share About the Community
There are a lot of young people here! It’s a great place to raise a family and the community provides a lot of choices and opportunities to do so. We’ve got an awesome Rec Board that provides a lot of entertainment for kids so they can participate in fun activities without having to go to a larger community to do so. Such activities include- T-Ball, Swimming Lessons, Gymnastics, a Halloween Haunted House, and Ice Skating just to name a few. Cavalier is a hidden gem of North Dakota with Pembina Gorge to the North, Icelandic State Park to the West, and surrounded by numerous historical sites and museums.
